A "V" formation, sometimes called a "skein," describes the symmetry of a "gaggle of geese" in flight. I witnessed an amazing cloud of five skeins of geese flying together on a recent cloudy afternoon. "Skein" -- a new word for me -- and "Gaggle" -- an old friend.. ....
